VLT, or Visible Light Transmitted, measures the amount of light that passes through glass. It is the standard unit of measure for determining the shade of tint, with local regulations specifying VLT limits for certain auto glass. A 35% VLT indicates that 35% of visible light penetrates the glass, with the remainder being blocked.
